All about
Rewind is a really easy to use backup tool for your Shopify or BigCommerce store. They monitor and record all changes so that if, hey maybe a line of code causes the site to crash, or a bulk operation deletes all your products, you can easily go back and… Rewind to the point where you need to to get things working again. So whether you need to fix major issues, or undo unwanted changes, Rewind is there for you.
Rewind is a Shopify Plus Certified App (the only backup app in that program according to them) and they also offer dedicated backup and restore solutions for GitHub, Trello, QuickBooks Online and other tools you might be using.
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
This is a data backup built specifically for Ecommerce. That means they know what information to take from your store, and most importantly, how to easily restore it.
One thing that is really important when you are dealing with data crisis management is customer support. Rewind has 24/7 support agents to help anyone in any crisis as fast as possible.
Downtime is the biggest problem. Whether it's the entire site being down or a blog post or product variant, you’re going to reduce your downtime and risk of downtime by having a backup tool installed.
Typically it's the director of Ecommerce, someone in a financial role, or the CEO that is looking to champion the install of this tool. Sadly, Rewind admits that most people come to them when it is too late, after a major hack or mass deletion of their product lines.
It’s a very quick few clicks to install and setup. You won’t need to do anything with the tool until the moment a problem occurs. At that point, simply login to Rewind, find the latest version of the site, or the item within the site, and restore. It only takes a few moments for the change to take effect.
In all honesty, anyone on Shopify or BigCommerce should have a backup solution for their store. Rewind is a really strong choice for doing this for you. Maybe in the beginning you would just do some sort of manual export, but that is a risk you’re taking with your entire business.
If you really have no budget and no sales, then the value of protecting your starter store is lower, but I’d still recommend the $3/month plan for anyone building out anything they consider valuable.
If you have built your own extensive and expensive comprehensives backup solution, then you don’t need this tool and probably are overspending on your own custom solution.
