What is ShopPop?

ShopPop is a messenger marketing/chat marketing and conversational commerce tool designed to help your store better interact with customers, direct them through the purchase process with a mix of automated and manual responses, and help them track their purchase, review the product, and more, all through Messenger.

You can setup automated rules and macros to manage customer service inquiries like “where’s my order?” and “Is this product available in size X,” etc.

You can send review requests, order confirmation receipts, update messages, and, most importantly, abandoned cart sequences

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What makes ShopPop different than competitors?

One of the coolest things about ShopPop is that they offer a demo site that allows you to play with their software from a user's perspective. This is more helpful than you think about understanding the value of the tool and how it will actually work when you go to execute with it. You can see different widgets, notifications and even simulate a transaction, seeing what it would look like for your customers. 

ShopPop also tracks all of the information you receive from chatting with customers and includes it in their Audience dashboard. So if you are able to gather if someone is male or female, where they live, an email address, or anything else that will help with segmentation, it will be tracked in their profile. 

What metrics is ShopPop going to improve for my Ecommerce store?

ShopPop is working with two key impact metrics:

  • Conversion rate - which is done primarily through the use of the abandoned cart automations, but also through the live chat.
  • Lifetime value - by maintaining and automating the relationship with the customer, you get a deeper brand connection, which results in better retention.

ShopPop will also have a minor impact on reducing your customer service inquiry/ticket load.

Who has to manage ShopPop and how long does it take to setup?

ShopPop can be set up and managed by anyone in marketing, and will also be managed by your customer service team. Their plug and play options can have you up and running in a matter of minutes, but like with any tool the more time you invest in customizing the messaging and campaigns, the more you will get out of it.

Your customer service team will typically hop in daily to check customer responses/inquiries and answer them.

On the marketing side, you may only adjust copy or the tool monthly, maybe weekly at most, or depending on new campaign launches, updates, product launches, etc.

Is ShopPop right for my store?

ShopPop is a leaner alternative - meaning less features as of today, but also focused in a slightly different area, customer service - to larger Messenger tools. They are great for starting stores and growth stage stores that have (or want to have) an emphasis on using Messenger as a communication channel. They are free for stores that have less than 50 subscribers (meaning up to 50 people can interact with your ShopPop tools for free) and can scale as you grow.
