Anyone who’s sold online recognizes the importance of having optimized product images – but until now, “gold standard” practices were out of reach for so many. With Krome Image Labs, online retailers can finally access a tool that is putting data in the hands of designers to magically make top performing product images!
In an analysis of 786,000 products on Amazon, separating them by image types (white background, infographic, etc.) Krome found that infographic images lifted ranking by 2.2X and increased sales by around 49%.
Today, Krome applies all of their experience and knowledge into an image optimization service. Highly focused on Amazon sellers (but also working on a Shopify app which will instantly import product catalogs), they will take products, break them out by category and get key insights on similar products listed on Amazon. The merchant can then either shoot the photos themselves, or request a photoshoot from Krome.
From there, they layer on the post-production (working with professional design and photography contractors who specialize in niche categories like beauty, health or fashion) to create your final, optimize images – and you’re all set to sell.
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Krome magic isn’t guesswork – it's data-driven and dependable. Real AI and machine learning drawing upon a huge bank of data points will inform the direction of your images, meaning you can be sure you’re getting fully optimized results.
Leveraging a virtual workforce with a marketplace of designers, editors and photographers (managed by the K-Assemble ML system) which means they’re able to offer top quality and time efficiency.
Most notably, Krome is going to increase your conversion rate from your product photography. They also decrease your overall costs for design and your turnaround time for product images, which can be a huge help if you’re looking to streamline your onboarding process, or if you bring new lines on sale frequently.
Usually, it will be the Founder, CEO or the Creative Director of a brand who is looking to streamline image creation, add infographics and generally improve optimization of your digital assets. Larger brand’s teams may be looking to reduce the number of expensive lifestyle shoots they need to schedule, and smaller brands may be looking for an opportunity to produce product imagery that “punches above weight” but stays within their financial means.
Submitting images is a 7 step process, which includes setting up your target demographics (Krome will import your existing settings based on their analysis of your product in-market) as well as uploading your logo, brand guidelines and the kinds of images you would prefer, etc.
You can track the progress in the backend of the Krome app, which also makes it easy to view and approve briefs and artwork. In terms of turnaround, it will typically take around a week to get images back to you, but this may be a little quicker if you’re able to provide prompt approvals.
If you’re running an online store that sees frequent changes to your product line, or selling on a competitive marketplace where there’s a real need to stand out visually, Krome is well worth investigating. You stand to save huge amounts of time, sidestepping the need for complex product shoots and enjoying an effective and efficient turnaround of optimized, high converting images.
