What is nativeMsg?

“Moving from texting to tapping” - static image ads are a boring thing of the past. nativeMsg is a fresh take on conversational commerce and conversational ads allowing your ads to be interactive by inserting an easy "choose your own adventure" path to get the user clicking. Typically within 5 clicks, they are engaged and heading back to your website to browse or buy.

Right now you are probably spending some money on Google ad placements, you know the 300x250 and the 300x600 placements where you’re trying to get the attention of a consumer browsing a blog post or media site and bring them back to your site. With nativeMsg, you can automatically add product(s) from the ad click, depending on what you want to have happen and what the consumer is clicking on. Imagine someone interacting with your ad, choosing their size and color, and going straight to checkout from THE AD! That’s so huge! And this can happen anywhere you can drop an HTML or Javascrip ad. (Not for Taboola, Outbrain, or any 3rd party advertisers that don’t support HTML or Javascript.)

nativeMsg pulls all of your products and images, colors and sizes, straight from your Shopify store and into the ads you create. You can capture the consumers preferences, such as size or color, and upload that back to Shopify (and then send that to any other tool that helps auto-select size, for example). And this can happen even before the consumer has ever reached your site, which is pretty cool.

The style and themes of the conversational experience are fully customizable, and you can test them before pushing them live, creating different versions.

Because they integrate with RCS (Rich Communication Services - basically it’s a new-ish way to have a conversational flow experience and enriched content (like images, carousels, and buttons) from within your Android messaging tool)... You’re able to create unique conversational flows as a brand, to communicate through SMS with your consumers.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What makes nativeMsg different than competitors?

Many alternative products focus on the channels - SMS, Email, Messenger, etc. - and the “conversational experience” is a byproduct of the channel experience. nativeMsg is a conversation first. The channel is simply where you are having the conversational experience.

Their platform has patented technology that does “device detection” to understand if the receiving device can process RCS (Rich Communication Services). If it can, the conversational experience is sent, if it cannot, they send a sort of backup link that then moves the user over to a separate web-based conversational experience.

2-Click SMS opt-in where it pushes you to your SMS messaging app and you just have to hit “send” to opt in.

I’d say their most unique functionality is in their conversational ads, which allow consumers to interact with your brand, in a unique and compelling way, before they even go to your website.

What metrics is nativeMsg going to improve for my Ecommerce store?

nativeMsg has proven to be able to increase Return on Ad Spend by incorporating conversational ads into your advertising mix. They’ve shown that their ads and on-channel experiences increase engagement and, more importantly, conversion rate by 11% (as per their case study with a large retailer). They also see massive increases in click-through rate (CTR) from their ad and channel content.

Who has to manage nativeMsg and how long does it take to setup?

There are certainly some setup costs here. Sometimes it will be your media buyer that takes on this task - of incorporating a nativeMsg conversational experience into your advertising mix. Other times it's your head of email marketing or SMS marketing who wants to get more conversational with their on-channel experiences, and they would take this tool and create those conversations and launch them to your customer base.

When starting your trial, their team will create a couple of templates specific to your needs that you can then adjust to your liking and “hit the ground running.”

Is nativeMsg right for my store?

nativeMsg is best for medium and large eCommerce merchants, with medium to large marketing teams, typically with $5mm in revenue or more and doing at least $10,000 a month in ad spend across the major channels - typically Facebook and Google.

Stronger for brands with solid website traffic and an existing customer database that can be marketed to for repeat purchases.

This is a great tool for any brand looking to engage with prospects and help them navigate any sort of semi-complex buying process.

Especially more powerful if you do any sort of segmentation, as this tool can get the answer to those segmentation questions.

nativeMsg can also be for agencies looking to create “Conversational Commerce Services” and sell those to retailers and brands.

nativeMsg is not worth the investment as a small or starting store… Even though it can help and be a fun and interactive way to engage new prospects, you are better off getting them “the old fashioned way” and then layering this tool in to optimize Return on Ad Spend and the conversion funnel.
