All about
Voyage is an SMS marketing platform complete with a multitude of list building and opt-in options, robust segmentation and campaign builders, and detailed reporting and analytics. They are doing “micro-messaging” at scale.
For segmentation, you can create segments based on actions in Klaviyo or Recharge. What does that mean? You can set up all of your abandonment campaigns for browse, cart, and checkout abandonment. You can set up drip campaigns that trigger based on browsing behavior, email behavior, checkout behavior, etc. and you can automatically add product images to text based on behavior.
They support both short-codes and long-codes. They recommend doing a dedicated long code (10 digit phone number) for subscribers under 20k, and then move over to a paid dedicated short-code thereafter, which costs a bit more to manage.
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
Voyage is very flexible for integrating with brands that are on custom platforms. They also work well with brands that are in the “shaft” zone - that is brands that may have been banned from other platforms just for being in a sensitive industry such as guns, alcohol, adult, etc.
They automatically detect the location of the user to set their time zone and help you send messages during the users’ waking hours.
Voyage has the unique ability to create event triggers - these are triggers that can be caused based on a custom quiz field being filled in, a special button being hit, or some other sort of custom field or event that fires that is unique to your brand, and you want to create a segment for and then follow up with unique content.
Voyage has an opt-in at checkout to ensure that you’re maximizing opt-ins at that key moment where they are already giving you their phone number, and ensuring compliance as you capture that information.
They have split-testing functionality on their pop-ups so that you can continue to test, iterate, and improve conversion rate from them.
They have a robust integration with help desks that can be setup so that you either have all responses routed to your helpdesk, or only non-keyword responses routed to your helpdesk.
Voyage is increasing conversion rate, return on ad spend, and overall revenue via timely SMS messages. With their advanced segmentation, you can expect to squeeze even more money out of your users with those more personalized, and more timely messages.
Voyage is meant for a savvy marketer to come in and manage the tool on a regular basis. Most of the time you will want to migrate from your current pop-up tool to theirs, which can take a little time.
Voyage is best for medium to larger merchants who have a strong marketer at the helm of email (and SMS). If you’re going with Voyage, it is specifically to maximize the value of your SMS campaigns. There are simpler SMS solutions for those stores looking for the basics - abandoned cart/checkout.
Voyage is great for merchants that need to gate or check age for opt-ins, as they handle that to ensure compliance.
Voyage is great for brands that have their users take quizzes or if you have a lot of custom data points on a user.
Voyage is not going to be great for small or starting stores who just need basic SMS functionality. They are not for brands that don’t have a strong marketer at the helm, so if you’re more of a product-centric brand or founder, you may need a partner agency to maximize the value with Voyage (even though the Voyage team will help you, it will be better to have someone strong managing the tool).
