All about

What is Quartile?

Quartile is like having a very smart media buyer, sitting in a box, running your ads as flawlessly as possible 24/7/365.

Managing over $2 billion in ad spend across over 5,000 brands, their software creates super granular campaigns, something that would take your media buyer hours and hours of time to do, and with these granular campaigns, they monitor all of them and adjust bidding based on goals and results, in real-time.

You can build custom tags for different products or collections to better understand performance by category, collection, brand, etc.

To get the maximum value out of their tool, you should have your Landed Cost, or Cost of Goods Shipped (Cost of Goods Sold Plus Shipping) input into your eCommerce platform backend so that they can automatically pull it in and calculate your margins and profits.

One thing Quartile doesn’t do is create your creative - your Google ads copy, your Facebook ad video or creative. And they also don’t touch your website. So you need these elements figured out on your own before working with Quartile.

They don’t need access to your eCommerce platform data, just access to your product feeds and to make sure all your pixels are in place and tracking conversions appropriately.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

What makes Quartile different than competitors?

Quartile’s first differentiator is that they are managing all of your paid ads, across multiple channels. Crucial for cross-channel budgeting and understanding ROI of large-scale campaigns.

More importantly than that, however, is the power of their AI. In managing so many brands and creating such granular campaigns, their AI is able to discover keywords down to the SKU-level with placement and bid adjustments done in real-time.

What metrics is Quartile going to improve for my Ecommerce store?

Quartile is specifically going to reduce your Cost Per Acquisition (CPA), Increase your Return on Ad Spend (ROAS), and ultimately allow you to grow your brand through more effective channel advertising.

They typically will get you the same results while lowering ad spend 30-40% (typically this simply just gets reinvested into growth, you don’t actually lower your spend unless you want to).

This leads to impacts on profitability, as well as a reduction in the resources needed for media buying.

Who has to manage Quartile and how long does it take to setup?

Typically its going to be your Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Director of Marketing, head of marketing, or whomever is in charge of media buying that will want to demo the tool and understand its potential.

Every account gets a dedicated account manager to meet with a couple times a month, review the account, talk about changes in inventory, choosing products based on margins or shelf-life, etc., and ultimately make sure the advertising channel strategy is aligned with the goals of the business. You’ll work with the account manager to focus on what your goal is, typically it is something like: increase number of net new customers, increase revenue, increase profit, etc.

For the first 6 weeks, they take an exploratory approach, expand keywords and target segments, let the matching figure out what is working and what is not, and then adjust and move down into super aggressive targeting and truly finding the best-fit campaigns to sell more products to more customers.

Google and Facebook / Meta does take more time to get setup, typically about 4 weeks, and this is typically due to the creative and back and forth process to get all campaigns setup in the right format. The Amazon/Walmart/Instacart channels are a lot more plug and play because you really don’t have to do anything from a creative standpoint.

No expertise required, you really will only log into the backend of the tool to do reporting or check in on your account manager (if you’re an expert media buyer).

Bonus: They also talk and work extremely well with media agencies managing multiple clients ad budgets.

Is Quartile right for my store?

Quartile is best for established and growing brands doing at least $1mm in revenue and spending at least $5k/month in ad spend, and likely much much more - as they work best as you scale out to $50k and $100k per month and beyond.

Quartile works well with both single channel brands - like Amazon sellers and then for larger brands they can be more powerful for cross-channel advertisers using 2-6 channels, like Google, Bing, Amazon ads, Walmart Connect, Instacart, etc.

You shouldn’t use Quartile if you’re a starting store, don’t do any sort of advertising, or don’t yet have product-market fit.
