All about
Yotpo Subscriptions is designed to help you drive new subscriptions and retain them longer, easily integrating with Shopify and leveraging their other suite of tools.
If you’re already doing subscriptions and looking to migrate, they have a migration specialist that can migrate your customer database over within 72 hours as a complete white-glove effort to move you onto Yotpo Subscriptions.
They make it super easy to launch “Subscribe and Save” plans for your products, and they do also support the traditional subscription model for those subscription only products.
Very easy to skip a shipment, change the scheduled ship out date, send emails to request updates to credit cards or you can update manually. And you can pause or straight cancel the subscription.
Yotpo Subscriptions uses the native Shopify checkout, so it seems exactly the same as the normal checkout process.
Shopify/ShopPay (or whatever other 3rd party checkout provider you use like PayPal, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.) is the one processing all transactions, which means that Yotpo is not handling the transactions themselves, they are simply the subscription management layer on top of the payment processor.
Yotpo sends the subscription emails and you can manage and edit those emails however you’d like to, inside Yotpo, without coding. You can do CSS coding on top of their platform if you want to, but it isn’t needed to get off and running.
Yotpo Subscriptions integrates nicely with SMSBump to allow you to get your existing customers to upgrade to “Subscribe and Save” and to maintain the relationship with each customer - giving them that ability to easily manage their subscription from their phone, which is huge for retention, reducing customer service inquiries, and so forth.
You can easily add the Yotpo Customer Portal Widget to your customers account page. The Yotpo team has uncovered that for many consumers, they don’t know what their login is, so for that reason, they have a standalone widget that automatically verifies each consumer by using a link from their email address. What I’m saying is that the consumer doesn’t need to log in to update their subscription, they simply have to check their email or SMS for the link.
You can award subscription purchases for specific rewards, for example, on your second order you start receiving more points in Yotpo Loyalty, and for each subsequent subscription order, you get more and more points. This is all easy to set up inside Yotpo Subscriptions in conjunction with Yotpo Loyalty and Referrals.
Their analytics give you the basics of what you need to understand how subscriptions are working for you, or you can export their analytics and pipe them into your more advanced analytics solution, something like a Glew, Daasity, Peel Insights, or Segments by Tresl, for example.
What’s a Rich Text element?
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
How to customize formatting for each rich text
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
The number one thing that makes Yotpo Subscriptions different is their suite of other products that Yotpo Subscriptions flawlessly integrates with: SMSBump, Loyalty and Referrals, and Yotpo Subscriptions Reviews. Especially the integrations with their loyalty tool - as tying together loyalty and paying subscriptions is a great way to grow your business.
By using this suite of tools in one place you can really streamline the user experience.
Yotpo Subscriptions has a very generous pricing model for those getting started with subscriptions. Because they charge a flat 1% fee and your first $500 is free, you really only pay them when you get value out of their tool, and can start for free to test out subscriptions for your store.
Yotpo Subscriptions helps you get and keep more subscription customers, especially for “Subscribe and Save” plans.
Setup is extremely easy and only takes a few minutes. You go through a 5 step setup process on the backend and then you add the Yotpo Subscriptions subscription widget to your product detail page. You will be able to quickly test that it is working as expected and then simply hit the “launch” button and you are live.
Yotpo Subscriptions works for merchants both big and small, but the #1 reason to use this tool is to use it in conjunction with other tools in their suite, so if you’re already using SMSBump or Yotpo Reviews, or Yotpo Loyalty and Referrals, you should strongly consider adding Yotpo Subscriptions to the mix. If you’re considering Yotpo Subscriptions, but are with a different loyalty provider (for example), you may want to also demo Yotpo Loyalty and Referrals in order to determine if moving over to their whole suite is the best move.
Yotpo Subscriptions isn’t for single time purchase products like larger electronic goods, high end jewelry or luxury goods, etc. You want products that are either consumable or discoverable - something that a customer would be thrilled and excited to receive every month.
